Come and join us with your mending pile and get creative with your darning. Spend a few hours with George and Bee as they introduce the practice of darning and how to creatively repair and revive your damaged or old clothing...
And because it’s repair week, they will be giving away a free gift mini darning kit so you’ll have everything you need to continue at home!
This workshop will focus specifically on darning, which is a method used to mend holes in garments or textile pieces by interweaving yarns to close up holes and reinforce the surrounding area.
Explore the method through either visible or invisible mending. Perfect for socks, jumpers, scarves or any other holey items you might have!
This will be a hand sewing class, so no need to be a pro on the sewing machine! Which means you will be able to learn the techniques and continue to fix your clothing without any machinery.
Work on your own garments or practice on knitted samplers provided in class.
All equipment is provided.
